Call for AbstractsAbstracts may be submitted on any subject related to the general area of behavioral neuroscience. PRESENTING AUTHORS MUST SUBMIT THEIR ABSTRACT USING THEIR OWN LOG IN (e.g. Advisors may not submit an abstract for a student under the advisor's account). More than one abstract may be submitted by each author. Abstracts should be no longer than 2,500 characters including spaces and prepared as a single paragraph, single-spaced. Abstracts should NOT contain photos, tables or references. Data must be original and not previously published. Please include any funding acknowledgements. A nonrefundable abstract fee of $50 USD is due at the time of submission. Abstracts should be submitted by March 1, 2021. Late abstracts will be considered until April 15, 2021, for posters only. After March 1, 2021, the fee is $75 USD. Members and non-members of IBNS are invited to submit abstracts online at the following link: 2021 Abstract Form POSTER SESSIONS. All posters will be presented virtually through our exciting interactive online platform. For those who feel secure in travelling we will also offer an in-person poster session with social distancing and safety protocols in place. The photo below shows the boards; however, they will be spaced further apart to allow for social distancing. Travel AwardsIBNS has a commitment to diversity and inclusion and welcomes undergraduates, graduates and postdocs from all geographic areas and backgrounds to apply for a 2021 travel award to assist with their travel expenses for IBNS 30th Annual meeting. Travel Award Applications are due by February 1, 2021. Travel Award applicants are judged based on criteria specific to their level of training. In addition, travel costs will be taken into consideration in determining the final amount of the award. Travel Award recipients are required to present a poster as well as participate in a slide blitz session. Award recipients are required to attend the entire meeting. More Information on Travel Awards Early Faculty Travel Award - NEW!!Transitioning to Faculty is often the most difficult academic career transition and IBNS is here to help. We're introducing our latest Travel award, our Early Faculty Travel Award, and we encourage people within 2 years of their initial faculty appointment to apply. The winner will not only receive funds to travel to the IBNS 2021 meeting in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (June 1st – 5th, 2021), but they will receive free registration for both that and the next meeting (held in Glasgow, UK). If of course, if the winner cannot attend the IBNS 2021 meeting in person, they will still receive free registration to attend virtually (for which 100% of the 2021 meeting will be available virtually, and at least part of the 2022 meeting will be available virtually). At IBNS we strongly encourage diversity outreach in our applicants. To encourage transparency, please see the scoring rubric for applicants. To apply for this travel award, please submit a description of the research you plan to conduct in your new laboratory (4500 characters max), your CV that includes a statement toward Diversity & Inclusivity, and a letter of support from a senior faculty member, preferably your Chair indicating your eligibility and their support.
